The Crochet Guild of America (CGOA) is all about crochet! As it is the only national organization dedicated to the craft of crochet, CGOA provides the opportunity for members to learn more about crochet, be inspired by innovative designs, and connect with other passionate crocheters.
Join this community of more than 3,000 enthusiasts from all over the country—and the world—to connect about crochet on all levels. You can learn as a beginner, become a master, be inspired by new designs, and engage through our educational programs and annual conference.
If you crochet, you really should be a member.
The CGOA is a lovely community of people, which I learned when I attended my first CGOA Annual Conference this past July. I’ve attended many professional conferences for work, but there was something special about a large group of women (mostly, but not all) sharing their love for a hobby together. It sounds simple, but the conference experience was more relaxing and uplifting than it had occurred to me that it would have been. Everyone needs a break from the stresses of life, and if crochet is that outlet for you (as it is for me), the CGOA is looking for you!
Member benefits include a yearlong subscription to Crochet! Magazine and the CGOA newsletter. Crochet! is a gem. Every issue is full of high-quality patterns, but I especially enjoy the instructional and troubleshooting articles. Designer-authors make it easy to learn new techniques, try new fibers, and learn new skills.
The CGOA publishes exclusive free patterns for members through the website and email newsletter, and you can take your skills to a higher level through the CGOA Masters courses. You can also network, socialize, and work on volunteer projects and “chapter challenges“ with members in your area. CGOA members receive discounts from major yarn and craft supply companies.
There are so many good reasons to be a CGOA member. But simply, if you love crochet, you will love the CGOA.
